Job Description
Description Amazon's World-Wide Fulfillment By Amazon (WW FBA) organization is looking for an innovative, results-oriented, and strategic Finance Manager to partner with the WW FBA Product, Tech and Operations leadership team. This Finance professional will help steward our growth into this complex but fast-growing space as a strategic and operationally-minded leader who is not afraid of ambiguity and challenges the status quo. The ideal candidate will shine in ambiguous situations, navigating between the details and big picture, playing a primary role as owner of some of our organization's most visible mechanisms and artifacts (e.g., weekly business reviews, quarterly business reviews, annual operating plans, 3-year vision plans). They will partner with WW FBA Product, Tech and Operations leadership team to develop and drive operational processes (Business Reviews, Finance and Operations, Goal Management), people-driven programs, technical programs (ability to understand complex technology-driven initiatives and programs). They are able to influence successfully at all levels, think strategically, are a talented Finance Manager, strong organizer, take initiative, and operate effectively across many teams. This candidate sees around corners, is biased for action in ensuring the team is set up for success in achieving our goals. Key job responsibilities
- Oversee financial reporting for your business area. Understand input drivers and validate data integrity to influence strategic decision-making and long-range planning. Leverage data to surface disruptive ideas and deliver actionable guidance to business leaders globally.
- Prioritize Controllership by identifying, resolving, or providing guidance on complex data integrity issues. Strengthen controls to mitigate financial risk and reinforce frugality.
- Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs. Exercise sound judgment in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure.
- Communicate data clearly, concisely, and unambiguously—both written and verbal. Adapt style across audiences to articulate complex finance issues with precision. Your communications drive critical business decisions.
- Collect and analyze data to develop insightful reporting that drives business performance improvement and cost reduction.
- Have Backbone; Disagree and Commit to foster constructive dialogue, harmonize conflicting views, and drive decisions.
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 4+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
