Job Description:
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Performs grant accounting functions (such as review, analysis, financial reporting) and supports grant administration and program managers to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, private, and BBAHC requirements. Collaborates with management to streamline information gathering and applicable processes and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), grantors, Code of Federal Regulations, and single-audit requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, health administration, or related field required from a four-year college or university. Prior related work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education. Two (2) years of experience monitoring and administering grants in excess of $50,000 preferred. working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal Cost Principles, and fund accounting. Familiarity with fund accounting software preferred. Possess strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated proficiency with office software (word processing and spreadsheets) and web-based grant application/administration systems. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a normal office setting. Must be able to see, hear, speak, walk, sit, bend, kneel, and lift and carry up to 20 pounds with our without accommodations. Limited travel required to Dillingham, Anchorage or lower 48 for conferences and training.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
