Job Description:
ITAC Solutions is assisting a well-established client in the Birmingham area in their search for an Accountant to join their growing team! This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional seeking a collaborative environment, strong leadership, and long-term career growth. The ideal candidate will have experience with full-cycle accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This position offers exposure to multiple areas of accounting and the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies. What You'll Be Doing (duties of this position): Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger activity Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Prepare financial reports and support financial analysis Review and analyze balance sheet and income statement activity Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes Support audit preparation and provide requested documentation Collaborate with internal departments and leadership teams Identify opportunities for accounting process improvements Assist with AP/AR functions as needed What You'll Need to Be Considered (requirements): Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 2+ years of accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines What Could Set You Apart (preferred skills): Month-end close experience Budgeting and variance analysis exposure ERP experience including NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics GP, or similar systems Public accounting experience is a plus
