Property Staff Accountant

Property Staff Accountant Location:

Birmingham, AL (Onsite) Our client is hiring a Property Staff Accountant with a tax focus to their corporate team. This is a strong opportunity for someone with 1-2 years of accounting experience and exposure to tax who wants to build an exciting career with a well-established Birmingham company!

Job Responsibilities:

Providing support across state and local tax areas, including income, property, and sales & use tax in multiple jurisdictions Partnering with outside CPA firms on tax filings and compliance work Handling business license renewals and contractor compliance initiatives Assisting with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting processes Maintaining fixed asset records and supporting depreciation schedules Working alongside internal teams on tax-related questions tied to specific projects

Ideal Profile:

1-3 years of accounting or tax experience Accounting degree required Yardi Experience Someone who wants to grow into a well-rounded accounting professional CPA or CPA-track is a plus, but not a must Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
