Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced construction accounting professional to join our team in Bryant, AR. This individual will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting functions specific to commercial general contracting operations, including job costing, subcontractor billing oversight, AIA billing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of construction financials and is comfortable working in a fast-paced project-driven environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable for construction projects (including experience in preparing month end financials per GAAP standards
- Review and Approve

payment applications and owner billings.- Assist CEO with preparing month end financials.
- Review and process subcontractor invoices, including SOV reconciliation, lien waivers, and retainage tracking
- Maintain accurate job cost accounting across multiple concurrent projects
- Prepare monthly WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules and over/under billing reports
- Aid in reconciling project budgets vs. actuals and flag variances to project management. Prepare WIP report
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support bonding, insurance, and banking relationships with financial documentation
- Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors on budget tracking and cost codes
- Ensure compliance with lien waiver requirements and state/federal regulations
- Maintain and organize project files, contracts, and financial records
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in construction accounting
- Demonstrated knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting
- Proficiency with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Foundation, or similar)
- Experience with project management platforms such as Procore is a strong plus
- Working knowledge of AIA billing documents (G702/G703) and subcontractor pay applications
- Strong understanding of lien waivers, retainage, and subcontractor compliance requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with pivot tables and financial modeling preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication skills to work cross-functionally with PMs, estimators, and executive leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with bonding requirements and bonding company reporting
- CPA, CMA, or comparable certification (not required but valued)
- Background in commercial GC projects ($5M+ in contract value)
