Status:
Full-Time Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in managing company receivables, financial reporting, and job financial closeouts while serving as the backup to the Accounts Payable Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial processes, collecting past-due invoices, and supporting leadership with timely reports. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative, with strong organizational skills and a focus on efficiency and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Receivables Management:
Manage the complete lifecycle of company receivables. Collect and follow up on past-due invoices. Prepare and distribute weekly receivable reports for the CEO, President, and Project Managers.
Financial Reporting & Reconciliation:
Reconcile the SCI checkbook. Collaborate with the CFO to produce monthly financial reports for SCI leadership. Review current SCI software tools and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and automation.
Job Financial Closeout:
Manage the financial closeout of jobs in coordination with project teams. Collaborate with Project Managers on monthly draw requests.
Team & Process Support:
Attend weekly staff meetings and department Level 10 meetings. Provide backup support for the Accounts Payable Manager. Ensure adherence to all SCI company processes and policies. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment while supporting both internal colleagues and external customers.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Previous accounting experience, preferably in construction or related industries. Experience with receivables management and financial reporting required.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Skilled in financial reconciliation, reporting, and process improvement.
