Job Description
Description We are looking for an Accountant to join a well-established organization in Springdale, Arkansas on a Long-term Contract basis. This on-site role will support core accounting operations across a multi-account environment, working closely with leadership to keep financial records accurate, timely, and compliant. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to reporting, reconciliations, budgeting support, and audit readiness while helping maintain strong financial controls.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with leadership to support budgeting activities, forecast updates, and the preparation of financial reports used for business decisions.
- Manage daily cash activity by recording receipts, verifying deposits, and ensuring transactions are reflected accurately in the accounting system.
- Reconcile multiple bank accounts to the general ledger each month and investigate discrepancies to maintain reliable balances.
- Prepare journal entries, analyze financial data, and assist with month-end close tasks to support accurate ledger maintenance.
- Create recurring financial and operational reports for management and provide insight into trends, variances, and account activity.
- Coordinate documentation for annual audits, respond to information requests, and help ensure financial records are organized for review.
- Track investment and capital asset activity, maintain supporting schedules, and reconcile related balances as needed.
- Provide backup assistance for payroll and accounts payable processes and support internal teams with accounting questions and process improvements. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial reporting, or a similar finance-focused role.
- Hands-on knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and accounting software such as QuickBooks Pro.
- Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash applications, and financial reporting activities.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and skill in managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.
