In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support strategic decision-making through accurate financial analysis. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, streamline accounting processes, and contribute to the overall success of our organization. The Senior Accountant is a hands-on accounting professional responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, job costing, and maintaining general ledger accuracy. This role requires strong experience and the ability to partner with operations to ensure accurate project/job profitability reporting. Responsibilities Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow). Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, Schedules (Accruals, Depreciations Prepaids. Assist with year-end close,audits, and tax support schedules. Experience in project-basedenvironments (construction, manufacturing, IT, staffing,healthcare, facilities, etc.) Manage the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies. Oversee general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal and external audits. Maintain accurate records within various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, and HRIS systems. Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments using Paychex or similar payroll management tools. Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, or areas for improvement. Support payroll management activities by processing payroll data accurately through systems like ADP or Kronos while ensuring benefits administration is correctly reflected in the financial records. Assist with non-profit or governmental accounting functions as needed, ensuring adherence to specific regulatory requirements. Perform account reconciliation tasks regularly to ensure accuracy across all ledgers and support audit readiness efforts. Support tax preparation activities by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws. Experience Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within public accounting or corporate finance environments. Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and principles. Hands-on experience with a variety of accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, Ceridian, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos or equivalent systems. Strong understanding of SOX compliance procedures and internal controls. Demonstrated ability in accounts payable/receivable management and payroll processing using industry-standard tools such as Paychex or ADP. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Skilled in double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management. Familiarity with governmental or non-profit accounting practices is a plus. Strong attention to detail combined with effective data entry skills including 10-key typing proficiency. Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams involved in human resources and finance functions.
