Full Job Description Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Client Accounting Services team. This is an elevated bookkeeping and accounting role that goes well beyond data entry — you will serve as a trusted financial partner to a portfolio of clients, owning the full-cycle accounting process and delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information. A CPA license or active candidacy is strongly preferred and will be given significant weight in the selection process. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of clients, including AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement; communicate findings clearly to clients Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Coordinate with internal and external tax CPAs, and external auditors Maintain organized, audit-ready client files and documentation Proactively identify and communicate accounting issues or irregularities to senior team members Stay current on changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and best practices Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and client service delivery
Requirements:
Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting or outsourced accounting environment Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar platforms) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strongly Preferred Active CPA license or CPA candidate Experience in a client-facing or outsourced accounting (CAS) environment Familiarity with bill.com, Gusto, ADP, or similar platforms
