Then check out some of the technical requirements of the job: Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting timely, GAAP-compliant financial reporting for a rapidly growing, multi-entity Pilates organization. This role is central to month-end close, audit preparation, and internal controls for 28+ studios operating across multiple states. The Senior Accountant partners closely with operations, payroll, and leadership to ensure consistency, compliance, and financial transparency as the organization scales. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple legal entities and studio locations Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Maintain general ledger accuracy, ensuring proper classification of revenue and expenses by studio and state Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany accounts, and liabilities Review revenue recognition related to memberships, packages, retail, and promotions Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with finance leadership Partner with operations and studio leadership to resolve financial questions and discrepancies Audit & Compliance Serve as a primary finance contact for the annual external audit Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and multi-state requirements (payroll, sales tax, and operations) Assist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation for studio build-outs and equipment Identify and recommend improvements to internal controls and accounting processes Process Improvement & Systems Identify opportunities to improve close efficiency and streamline accounting workflows Support accounting system enhancements and reporting tools Maintain documentation for accounting policies, procedures, and controls Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity or multi-location environments Experience supporting annual external audits and preparing audit schedules Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex financial models High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally Preferred CPA or CPA-eligible Experience in retail, fitness, hospitality, or other service-based industries Multi-state accounting experience, including payroll and sales tax considerations Familiarity with NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar accounting systems Experience in a private-equity-backed or high-growth organization Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a demonstrated ability to improve processesBENEFITS & PERKS
