POSITION SUMMARY
The Accountant Facility I is responsible for numerous areas of accounting and reporting for multiple surgery center facilities, including month close, financial analysis, and ad hoc projects. This role reports to the Senior Accountant as part of the company's accounting department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Month close cycle journal entry preparation. expense review and analysis. cash accounting and bank reconciliations. fixed asset and CIP accounting. prepaid asset accounting. actively participate in monthly operating review calls with facility. leaders and operations management. provide high-quality customer service to facility leaders regarding accounting inquiries. Financial analysis prepare financial reporting package. financial statement flux/variance research. Ad hoc/impromptu projects Train new staff and/or new facility management team members on finance/accounting topics. assist departments outside of accounting with various projects and requests. research accounting guidance and make recommendations. documentation of policies and procedures. creative work in implementing/improving accounting processes. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BS
in Accounting/Finance 1 - 3 years experience in Accounting (general ledger accounting preferred). Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from management. Able to operate both independently and as part of a larger functional team. Organizational capacity to manage deadlines and conflicting priorities in a dynamic work environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional education and experience preferred. CPA License.

Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone. May require off-site travel.

SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY
Works independently under general supervision, following defined standards and procedures. Reports to a Supervisor or Manger. Uses critical thinking skills to solve problems and reconcile accounts in a timely manner. External customers include all hospital patients, patient families and all third-party payers. Internal customers include facility medical records and patient financial services staff, attorneys, and central services staff members.
