Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a Construction Staff Accountant to join our Phoenix team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong construction accounting background who can take ownership of financial processes, support operations, and grow into a leadership-focused position. This is not just a technical accounting role. We are looking for someone who can think critically, make decisions independently, and contribute to the overall success of the business. Key Responsibilities Manage accounts payable and weekly check runs Code and process construction invoices, payment applications, and lien documentation Maintain job cost accounting, including budgets, cost codes, and project tracking Support month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reporting Partner with project and construction teams to review job status and costs Assist with cost analysis and operational reporting Support tax filings, compliance, and construction-related financial processes Help maintain and improve internal processes, controls, and workflows Required Qualifications Construction accounting experience required Strong understanding of accounting principles and job cost accounting Advanced Excel skills Ability to analyze financial data and support decision-making 4 year degree in Accounting What We're Looking For Proven ability to take ownership and lead within a role Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills Ability to follow and enforce company processes and protocols Comfortable working independently without constant direction Strong communication skills and ability to work with both office and field teams Preferred Experience Experience in construction billing, job costing, and project-based accounting Familiarity with lien processes, compliance, and contractor documentation Ideal Candidate Profile Mature, dependable, and accountable Confident in making decisions and taking initiative Able to adapt and work effectively with a dynamic team Open to learning and growing within the organization Growth Opportunity This role offers the opportunity to grow into a key leadership position within the accounting function. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
