This reputed Phoenix CPA firm is a public accounting firm based in Phoenix, Arizona, serving small and mid-sized businesses. The firm focuses on tax, accounting, and advisory services and is known for its transparent, friendly, and client-focused culture.
Job Overview:
Our client is building the next line of leadership. Hiring a strong Accounting Professional who can operate at the Senior Accountant, Supervisor, or Manager level, depending on experience. This role is focused on accounting and bookkeeping review work for small businesses, with some compilations and one review engagement. It is ideal for someone who is highly accurate, technically strong in accounting, and confident working in a public practice environment.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & File Review
  • Review bookkeeping and accounting work for small business clients.
  • Oversee monthly accounting, cleanup work, and year-end preparation.
  • Handle a small number of compilation engagements and one review engagement.
  • Ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and supported. Client Relationship Support
  • Work directly with small business clients, answering accounting questions.
  • Support senior staff and partners in client meetings as needed.
  • Maintain a responsive, helpful communication style with clients. Workflow & Project Management
  • Manage multiple client files and deadlines at once.
  • Help ensure jobs move forward smoothly and are completed on time.
  • Flag issues or risks early and propose solutions. Tools & Systems
  • Use QuickBooks, UltraTax, and Canopy to manage client data and files.
  • Keep documentation and notes organized in the firm s systems.
Requirements:
  • Strong accounting knowledge and technical skill set.
  • Recent public accounting experience working with small business clients.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, compilations, and reviews.
  • Confident reviewing others work and providing feedback.
  • Strong client relationship skills and clear communication.
Experience:
  • Ideal experience range: 5 to 7 years in public accounting, but the firm will consider candidates with different experience levels based on capability and current role.
  • Proven ability to handle small business accounting files from start to finish.
Preferred Education/Certifications:
  • CPA is preferred, but not required for this role.
  • Technical strength and practical public accounting experience are more important than title alone.
