COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our client's farming heritage is now in its fourth generation and includes a team of 1,000 dedicated employees. It operates across four locations in Arizona and California. They are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Grower Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. This role will be responsible for managing grower accounting, settlement reporting, cost tracking, reconciliations, and financial analysis related to farming operations and grower relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare, review, and process grower settlements accurately and on time.
Track grower advances, deductions, chargebacks, assessments, and other settlement-related activity.
Reconcile grower accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Track and allocate farming, harvest, cooling, packing, freight, and sales-related costs.
Assist with crop, ranch, block, commodity, and grower-level profitability analysis.
Work closely with field operations, harvest, sales, cooling, packing, and logistics teams to ensure accurate financial data flow.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Agribusiness, or related field.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in agriculture, produce, food, commodity, or manufacturing environments.
Strong understanding of reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial reporting.
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a seasonal, fast-paced business.
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Experience with grower accounting, crop accounting, cost accounting, or agricultural operations.
Familiarity with produce industry systems, ERP platforms, Famous Software, Famous accounting modules, or similar agriculture/accounting systems.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
