Tax Director/Senior Tax Accountant- Yuma, AZ Salary:
$140,000-$150,000 base salary Additional compensation includes: Annual bonus (typically $5,000+) $30,000 credit toward the construction of a spec home selected by the employee Up to $1,000 relocation reimbursement Eligibility for a company vehicle
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Director / Senior Tax Accountant to oversee and manage a wide range of tax, financial reporting, and compliance functions across multiple affiliated entities. This role offers exposure to corporate, individual, nonprofit, property, sales, gift, and estate tax matters while serving as a trusted advisor to ownership and executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled tax professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys contributing to both day-to-day tax operations and long-term strategic planning initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for various business entities Manage tax compliance activities across corporate, individual, nonprofit, property, sales, and gift tax areas Coordinate and respond to tax audits, notices, and inquiries from taxing authorities Oversee sales and use tax reporting, compliance, and dispute resolution Manage property tax reporting and assist with appeals when necessary Prepare gift tax returns and support estate and succession planning initiatives Prepare nonprofit and foundation tax returns and related compliance documentation Assist with financial reporting activities for affiliated companies and related entities Prepare personal financial statements and supporting schedules Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to ownership and executive leadership Support business planning, tax strategy, wealth preservation, and special projects Collaborate with attorneys, auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders on strategic initiatives
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field Active CPA designation 7+ years of progressive tax and accounting experience Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred:
Experience working with family offices, closely held businesses, real estate entities, or high-net-worth individuals Experience with nonprofit and foundation tax filings Background in estate planning, gift tax, and succession planning About the
