Our team is built on the values of Pride, Partnership, Commitment, Integrity, and Client Satisfaction. We are seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of a portfolio of commercial real estate entities while working closely with property management, operations, and executive leadership. Position Summary The Property Accountant will oversee the full-cycle accounting process for multiple commercial real estate entities, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, accounts payable, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment. Essential Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned commercial real estate entities. Prepare and post journal entries. Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare accurate monthly financial statements. Process accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing. Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity. Record accruals, prepaids, amortizations, and allocations. Prepare supporting schedules and variance analyses. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Support audits, tax preparation, and financial reporting requests. Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation. Partner with property management and operations regarding financial matters. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 3+ years of accounting experience required. Property accounting or commercial real estate accounting experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of:
General Ledger Accounting Financial Statement Preparation Bank Reconciliations Accounts Payable Month-End Close Experience with accounting software/ERP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines simultaneously.
