Accountant - Construction Project Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our team for an upcoming construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and construction industry regulations. This role will collaborate closely with project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to foster financial accuracy and operational efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting operations for the construction project. Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports. Monitor, track, and reconcile project budgets, costs, and expenditures. Process accounts payable and receivable in accordance with company policy and project requirements. Communicate routinely with project managers on project status and financial performance. Assist with the preparation of regular internal and external financial reports. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements. Support audits and respond to financial inquiries as necessary. Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and financial controls. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction industry. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction, or similar). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent. Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. Familiarity with construction project management software. Knowledge of contract management, billing, and project cost control practices.
