Job Description

We are looking for a Property Accountant to support a high-profile commercial real estate portfolio in California. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong property accounting knowledge with a detail-oriented, service-oriented approach when working with tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The position offers the chance to contribute to the financial performance of premier retail assets while partnering closely with an established real estate team.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day property accounting activities for a commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring financial records remain accurate and current.
  • Process invoices, code expenses, and oversee accounts payable transactions using systems such as Yardi and MRI.
  • Assist with annual budgets, monitor variances, and prepare financial reporting that supports operational and ownership decisions.
  • Coordinate with vendors on billing matters, service documentation, and payment follow-up to maintain smooth property operations.
  • Review tenant charges, reconcile accounts, and help address financial inquiries with professionalism and timeliness.
  • Partner with property management staff during site activity reviews and support the financial administration of class-A retail properties.
  • Maintain organized accounting documentation in Excel and other reporting tools to support audits, month-end close, and internal review.
  • Contribute to a high-service environment by collaborating with clients, tenants, and cross-functional teams on property-related financial matters.
