Job Description

Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support core accounting activities for a wholesale distribution organization in Burbank, California. This role will contribute to accurate financial records, routine reporting, and inventory-related analysis while partnering with teams across operations and finance. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee general ledger activity by reviewing account balances, reconciling discrepancies, and helping maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure daily and periodic transactions are recorded completely and correctly.
  • Support the month-end close by gathering financial data, validating balances, and assisting with timely completion of closing tasks.
  • Produce recurring sales and management reports, then share insights with internal stakeholders to support business decisions.
  • Track inventory-related data, including stock accuracy, backlog trends, and aging or excess materials, to help highlight financial impact.
  • Partner with operations, shipping, receiving, sales, customer service, and finance teams to investigate issues and improve data consistency.
  • Assist with payroll-related reporting and headcount tracking to provide reliable information for internal review.
  • Work with IT and other internal teams to resolve system-related issues that affect accounting records or reporting.
  • Use spreadsheets and business software to evaluate costs and support informed operational and production decisions. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline preferred
  • 2 years general ledger work and reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with journal entries, bank reconciliations, and core accounting processes.
  • Some knowledge of cost accounting, inventory movement, or manufacturing-related financial concepts.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to work effectively in spreadsheets and reporting tools.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
  • Self-directed approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage shifting priorities.
