Staff Accountant with heavy AR

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable to join our team in Carson, California. As part of a growing retail organization specializing in direct-to-consumer and wholesale operations, this Contract to permanent position offers excellent stability and opportunities for growth. The role involves handling critical accounting functions while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full cycle of accounts receivable processes, including aging reports, collections, and cash applications.
• Monitor AR aging to ensure timely collections and mitigate financial risks.
• Oversee sales tax processes across ecommerce and wholesale channels, ensuring accurate application and tracking.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
• Process daily financial transactions and maintain organized, up-to-date records.
• Assist in month-end close activities to ensure timely reporting and compliance.
• Provide accounting support across departments, demonstrating a flexible and team-oriented approach. Requirements
• Proficiency in NetSuite and Shopify is required.
• Experience in ecommerce or retail accounting is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable processes, including collections and sales tax.
• Strong skills in managing corporate taxes, journal entries, and general ledger activities.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication skills, particularly in collections management requiring attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and growing environment with a commitment to long-term stability.
