$90-125k DEO We are seeking an experienced Job Cost Analystto join a growing organization. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of complex projects through work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, job cost analysis, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities Prepare and reconcile monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules for active construction and project-based work. Review project costs, progress billings, estimated costs to complete, and percentage-of-completion calculations to support accurate revenue recognition. Perform job cost analysis and investigate variances between estimated and actual project costs. Reconcile project financial data with the general ledger and resolve discrepancies as needed. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities related to project accounting. Prepare project profitability, backlog, and financial performance reporting for management. Monitor contract assets, liabilities, deferred revenue, and project-related accounting adjustments. Track project change orders and support accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Analyze operational and production costs to identify trends and opportunities for improved efficiency. Assist with inventory reconciliations, valuation, and cost analysis within a multi-entity environment. Support fixed asset accounting, capital project tracking, and cost allocations across business units. Coordinate purchasing activities, ensuring requests, approvals, and vendor communications are completed accurately and timely. Partner with operations, project management, and finance teams to ensure accurate project reporting and effective cross-functional communication. Identify and implement process improvements related to job costing, financial reporting, purchasing, and accounting workflows. Assist with ERP system enhancements, reporting automation, and data integrity initiatives. Develop financial reports and dashboards to support operational and executive decision-making. Perform additional accounting and financial analysis projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, job costing, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition. Experience supporting multi-entity accounting environments. Understanding of GAAP and project-based accounting principles. Experience preparing account reconciliations, financial analyses, and month-end close activities. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling. Experience working with ERP systems; construction accounting software experience is a plus. Familiarity with business intelligence or reporting tools such as Power BI is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
