In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, monthly close processes, inventory accounting, accounts payable/receivable reconciliation, and multi-unit retail/franchise reporting. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical GAAP knowledge, experience in the multi-unit restaurant, franchise, or food & beverage industry, and a high level of accuracy and analytical rigor. Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger & Financial Reporting Prepare, review, and record journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank statements, credit card processing fees, prepaids, accruals, and intercompany accounts. Assist in preparing monthly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and management reporting packages. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and corporate internal control policies. Retail, Central Kitchen & Inventory Accounting Monitor daily Point-of-Sale (POS) sales batch reconciliations across corporate and store locations. Analyze food costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), supply chain inventory valuation, and central kitchen transfer pricing. Participate in physical inventory count audits and assist in investigating variance discrepancies. Accounts Payable, Receivable & Franchise Operations Oversee full-cycle AP/AR procedures, including vendor payments, invoice matching, and franchise fee invoicing/collections. Audit and reconcile store-level cash deposits, third-party delivery platforms (e.g., DoorDash, UberEats), and gift card liabilities. Support tax compliance requirements, including sales tax filings across multiple local jurisdictions and annual property tax returns. Audit & Special Projects Assist external auditors during annual audits by preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, HR) to streamline accounting workflows and system integrations.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
Experience:
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience (Staff Accountant or equivalent). Experience in multi-unit retail, restaurant/QSR, food manufacturing, or franchising is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in accounting software / ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise, NetSuite, SAP, or Sage). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, and data analysis formulas). Familiarity with POS system integrations and third-party delivery platform reconciliation is a plus.
Core Competencies:
Strong understanding of US GAAP principles. Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to meet strict monthly close deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
