An Accountant organizes and maintains financial records and prepares financial statements for companies and organizations. Works as a public accountant (prepares financial documents where public disclosure is required by law, such as business balance sheets and tax returns), management accountant (prepares financial information for internal use by a company) or government accountant (maintains records for government agencies).

We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Senior Staff Accountant to become an integral member of our accounting team. This position serves as the Controller's right hand and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring the financial health of the company. Position Summary The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, assisting with financial reporting, month-end close, job costing, and supporting the Controller in maintaining accurate financial records and improving accounting processes. This position requires a self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively with management and operations. Essential Responsibilities Perform full-cycle accounting functions including daily A/R and A/P transactions. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements. Maintain the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations. Prepare and file sales and use tax returns. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting. Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management. Support annual financial reviews and outside CPA requests. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls. Assist the Controller with special projects and strategic financial initiatives. Collaborate with project managers and department leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting required Minimum two years of accounting experience. Minimum two years using QuickBooks Online Intuit Enterprise Suite . Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining confidentiality. Preferred Experience in the electrical, construction, or service contracting industry. Experience working with work-in-progress (WIP) billing, reporting, retainage, and project accounting. Construction lien experience. Experience supporting senior management with financial reporting and analysis. Experience with ITK (ECI), HubSpot and House Call Pro a plus.
