Commerce, CA Job Details $23 - $25 an hour 14 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Accounting systems GAAP Accounting and finance experience Excel data analysis Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable/Accounting Assistant to manage end‑to‑end accounts payable functions while supporting general accounting and month‑end close activities. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong AP experience who is looking to expand their accounting skill set in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Process high‑volume vendor invoices accurately and timely Perform two‑way and three‑way matching (invoice, PO, receiving) Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments Maintain vendor files, including W‑9s and payment terms Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve invoice discrepancies Reconcile vendor statements and monitor AP aging Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies Month‑End Close Assist with month‑end close activities, including journal entries and accruals Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules Assist with expense analysis and variance explanations Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives Qualifications Required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-4 years of accounts payable and/or general accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) Intermediate Excel skills (filters, lookups, pivot tables preferred) Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Prior month‑end close experience Experience in a high‑volume AP environment Exposure to audits or SOX/internal controls Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Effective written and verbal communication Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment Professional demeanor when working with vendors and internal stakeholders High level of integrity and confidentiality Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for growth and development
