Executive Director of Operations Partner with PrideStaff where we work for you! PrideStaff is a national staffing organization with branches across the U.S. - each office locally-owned and plugged into the community. We get to know you and proactively advocate on your behalf with leading employers. Our goal is to see you succeed! About the Role If you're looking for a traditional accounting job where you just execute the status quo and clear a queue—this isn't it. We are actively documenting, streamlining, and automating our financial operations, and we need a high-initiative leader who thinks building a better system is the fun part. We are looking for an exceptional accountant with a rare mix of technical mastery and natural leadership: someone who digs into the "why" behind the numbers, solves root-cause issues, and inspires better practices across the organization. You will start with strong operational ownership—mastering AP/AR execution, month-end close, and controls—and quickly take point on higher-level reporting, process architecture, and cross-functional leadership—leveraging a modern, AI-forward tech stack to build a scalable finance function.
What You'll Do Own & Lead Core Accounting:
Be a master of and oversee day-to-day operations including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close to maintain accurate financial records in Quickbooks online.
Expand Scope & Influence:
Drive higher-level financial operations—including P&L ownership, balance sheet integrity, and executive management reporting—while helping shape long-term financial strategy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Oversee AP & AR Operations :
Lead accounts payable processes by ensuring timely invoice processing, accurate data entry, and strict adherence to AP automation protocols. Support accounts receivable management by monitoring outstanding invoices and facilitating collections.
Lead Process & Automation:
Take charge of documenting SOPs, eliminating redundancies, and designing scalable workflows. Implement continuous process improvements, including data entry efficiency enhancements and workflow automation using Claude AI.
Advanced Financial Analysis:
Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis using advanced Excel data analysis techniques, including complex formulas and lookup functions (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
Maintain Compliance & Audit Preparedness:
Ensure strict compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). Assist in audit preparations, coordinate directly with external auditors, and handle all confidential information with absolute integrity.
Investigate & Resolve :
Bring a forensic eye to the books. You won't just post an adjustment—you will lead the charge to trace discrepancies to their source, fix root causes, and implement preventive controls.
Champion Next-Gen Tech:
Act as a champion and subject matter expert for modern tools—using Claude AI for workflow efficiency, Notion for team knowledge systems, and QuickBooks—guiding the team on how to adopt and maximize them safely.
What We're Looking For Strong Leadership & Ownership:
Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, guide process improvements, mentor peers, and drive results independently. You step up, take ownership, and bring people along with you.
Solid Accounting Foundation:
Senior-level experience with deep technical accuracy in full-cycle accounting, including AP/AR management, journal entry reviews, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance in high-volume environments.
Compliance & Technical Mastery:
Working knowledge of GAAP standards, SOX internal control frameworks, audit preparation procedures, and advanced Excel capabilities (formulas, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation).
Inquisitive & Strategic Mindset:
You absorb complex systems quickly, ask the sharp questions others miss, and translate financial insights into actionable operational decisions.
Tech-Savvy & AI-Curious Leader:
You embrace AI-assisted workflows (like Claude) as force multipliers. Crucially, you lead by example in applying high professional skepticism—knowing exactly when to trust technology and when to verify.
Modern Tool Adaptability:
High proficiency (or rapid adaptability) with Notion, QuickBooks, Excel, and modern workflow automation tools. Nice-to-Haves Experience in the automotive, dealership, or F&I (Finance & Insurance) space. Background in forensic, investigative, or audit-style accounting.
