In this role, you support accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency by maintaining reliable accounting records, performing key reconciliations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your work ensures compliance with established accounting standards, supports timely month-end close activities, and contributes to effective revenue recognition and cost analysis across the business.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms general accounting tasks and maintains accurate financial records.
Creates and posts journal entries and clears bank adjusting entries.
Completes monthly bank reconciliations and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) checklists.
Reconciles petty cash and verifies company credit card transactions.
Provides backup support for accounts payable and reconciles Received Not Invoiced (RNI) accounts.
Sends vendor payment remittances and supports month-end reporting activities.
Investigates general ledger (GL) variances to ensure an accurate and timely close.
Assists with data gathering for cost analysis, including cost validation for percentage of completion (POC).Coordinates with Contracts and Finance teams to verify contract values and support revenue recognition under Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 606.Updates job status and verifies information in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Required QualificationsBachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
Four or more years of experience in accounting practices.
Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
Excellent data entry, analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills.
Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, stress, and time management skills.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
