Send job Job Details Job Description At Cetera, we need detail-oriented professionals who help us deliver quality and value to our clients. As a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant, you will independently manage client accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities, maintain accurate financial records, and provide responsive, professional service. We are currently seeking a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team in Danville, California.What you will do:
- Maintain accurate client books and accounting records in QuickBooks, including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review trial balances, post adjusting journal entries, and support month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
- Review financial information and analyze account activity to identify discrepancies, unusual items, and opportunities for correction.
- Prepare and assist with payroll tax filings and related accounting compliance requirements.
- Communicate with clients by phone, email, and in person to obtain information, answer questions, and resolve accounting matters.
- Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation, manage assigned responsibilities independently, meet deadlines, and learn new accounting, tax, and office software as needed.
What you need to have:
- Experience using QuickBooks and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, including account reconciliations, trial balances, and adjusting journal entries.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, payroll-related accounting, and associated filing requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, time management, and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, professional client service, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn and effectively use new software and technology.
