English required | Japanese is a plus Summary Our client is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage day-to-day accounting operations while supporting financial planning and analysis. This role will be responsible for monthly closing, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll and vendor-related coordination, as well as some HR and general administrative support. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to expand their experience into FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and managerial accounting. The ideal candidate has a strong financial accounting foundation, is comfortable working with numbers, and can communicate financial information clearly with internal teams and management. Key Responsibilities Manage monthly accounting close and financial reporting Maintain accurate accounting records and account reconciliations Support budgeting, forecasting, and budget vs. actual analysis Prepare financial reports and provide business performance updates Monitor expenses, cash flow, and other key financial information Work closely with internal teams, including retail and marketing Coordinate with external accounting, tax, payroll, and other service providers Support payroll, employee benefits, and 401(k) administration Review and manage vendor invoices, contracts, and payments Assist with selected HR and general administrative responsibilities Support future audit preparation and improvements to accounting processes Provide weekly progress updates to management Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred Several years of hands-on accounting experience Experience with monthly closing is required Strong understanding of financial accounting Strong Excel and analytical skills Ability to interpret financial data and communicate key findings clearly Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal Japanese language skills are a plus, but not required CPA is a plus, but not required Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, or FP&A is preferred but not required Candidates with strong accounting experience and an interest in developing FP&A skills are encouraged to apply Comfortable working in a small organization and supporting responsibilities outside of accounting when needed Ideal Candidate Strong foundation in financial accounting Interested in transitioning into or gaining more exposure to FP&A Wants to develop skills in budgeting, forecasting, and managerial accounting Able to go beyond processing numbers and provide meaningful financial analysis Comfortable communicating with both financial and non-financial teams Hands-on, flexible, and willing to support a small team Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independentlyBenefits
