  • Full-time IFA Taxes is a division of Index Fund Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) with a national client base.
IFA Taxes provides tax advice & planning, tax accounting & bookkeeping and tax return preparation for a wide variety of individuals and business entities. We are growing rapidly and are in immediate need of a passionate, self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit for the position of Senior Tax Accountant. Reporting to the Director of Tax, the Senior Tax Accountant is part of a team providing tax services for a diverse client base. The Tax Accountant is a team player who can bring a passion for taxes in support of the Director of Tax, facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of tax forms, provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns. The Senior Tax Accountant will be able to handle multiple priorities concurrently including the preparation of state and federal income tax returns, perform tax research, and execute other complex tax accounting functions, and you come with a good understanding of tax regulations and accounting pronouncements that could include: Prepare individual, partnership, trust, restate, and corporation tax returns Prepare correspondence to tax authorities Prepare detailed work papers Identify accounting and income tax issues and propose strategies for resolution Assist with IRS examinations and protests Assist with tax planning and research technical accounting issues Develop strong relationships with personnel across various divisions within the organization Assist with quarterly state estimated taxes and extensions Prepare property, sales & use tax returns Assist with any state income/franchise and sales & use tax examinations Review fixed assets for compliance with tax depreciation methods and useful lives Preferred Attributes A BA or BS degree in accounting required and 5 years of public accounting experience (tax return preparation) CPA required Big 4 or large firm experience preferred, but not required 7+ years of proven experience in taxation A sincere desire to learn and grow within the tax field Ability to think independently but also able to take directions well Good interpersonal skills Commitment to excellence Solid time management and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Result-driven, with the ability to function in a culture of accountability A passion for tax work Highly proficient in MS Office, Lacerte, Intuit ProConnect Online, QuickBooks Online, or other equivalent accounting software program Compensation Salary based on experience, benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, vacation pay, and holiday pay.
