Green Knight Security is seeking a Staff Accountant who wants ownership, variety, and a clear seat at the table. This role reports directly to the CEO and will be trusted to keep day-to-day accounting accurate, timely, and useful for decision-making. Why this is a standout opportunity

  • Prepare customer invoices based on contracts, schedules, and completed services.
  • Manage client onboarding, customer master files, credit checks, billing questions, accounts receivable aging, and collections.
  • Process vendor invoices, maintain vendor records, secure required W-9 documentation, and prepare year-end 1099s. General accounting and close
  • Keep daily accounting activity timely, current, and accurate.
  • Maintain an appropriate chart of accounts for a service business.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, asset, liability, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Support GAAP and accrual-basis accounting standards.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close, with financial statements completed by the 10th of the following month. Financial reporting, insight, and controls
  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow reports for ownership.
  • Identify financial variances, trends, and issues requiring management attention.
  • Assist with annual operating budgets and related cash flow models.
  • Create ad hoc reports that help leadership see the business clearly.
  • Help protect financial data through clean access controls, unique logins, limited permissions, and documented procedures.
  • Prepare SOPs for accounting tasks and processes.
  • Support the migration from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. Payroll, compliance, and profitability
  • Coordinate payroll submissions with third-party payroll providers and review time entry for completeness and accuracy.
  • Review third-party payroll reports, enter payroll transactions into the general ledger, and assist with W-4 and W-2 processing.
  • Support compliance filings not managed externally, including SALT reports and Workers Compensation filings and audits.
  • Track labor, overtime, subcontractor, and direct contract costs by customer contract.
  • Monitor contract profitability and gross margins, then provide clear profitability analysis to ownership.
  • Support outside CPA firms during tax preparation and other reporting cycles.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
