Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Mammography Technician to lead our new breast imaging center at our La Habra Clinic. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of mammography procedures, medical imaging, and patient care within a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Mammography Technician, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammograms and related diagnostic imaging to assist in early detection and diagnosis of breast health issues, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic mammography procedures with precision, adhering to established protocols and safety standards. Prepare patients for imaging examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them correctly, and addressing any concerns. Instruct and review technical performance of diagnostic technologists, assisting as needed. Instruct patients in breast self examinations as required. Operate advanced imaging equipment including digital mammography units, DEXA scanners, and other related diagnostic tools such as PET scans, CT, and ultrasound. Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment planning. Ensure all imaging equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and sanitized according to aseptic techniques and safety guidelines. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and mammography best practices through ongoing education. Maintain a second Mammography registry with the ARRT by annually accruing five ECE's specific to Mammography education. Demonstrate competency in the use of all applicable aspects of the CIS, RIS, and PACS. Requirements Certification or licensure as a Mammography Technician or Technologist from an accredited program. Proven experience (at least 1 year) in mammography within a healthcare setting. Digital mammography experience. Registered with ARRT. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles relevant to breast imaging. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, radiation safety standards, and patient care best practices.
Pay:
$40.00 - $50.00 per hour
