San Diego, CA Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role will support various areas of the accounting function, including month-end close, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives within a fast paced technology environment. The position reports to Accounting leadership and offers strong exposure across the organization.Responsibilities :
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting schedules and reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including balance sheet and P&L analysis
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances as needed
- Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
- Assist with revenue, accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other general accounting activities
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and SOX requirements
- Support internal and external audit requests and prepare audit support documentation
- Assist with process improvements, automation efforts, and system enhancements
- Collaborate cross functionally with finance and operational teams on ad hoc projects and initiatives
- Perform additional accounting and finance duties as assigned
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
- 3-5+ years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting experience (Big 4 or mid-tier firm) and/or experience within a public technology company preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or Workday
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
