Summary of Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Staff Accountant is to maintain financial records, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with the month-end close process. This role requires high numerical accuracy and the ability to support the Controller in both accounting and basic payroll/HR administration tasks. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial statements, schedule reconciliation, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and post monthly journal entries for accrued expenses, prepaid assets, and depreciation. Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany accounts. Maintain the fixed asset ledger, ensuring all capital expenditures are tracked and depreciated correctly Assist in the preparation of schedules for year-end audits and tax filings. Support the Controller in ad-hoc financial projects Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding to the correct department and GL account. Monitor aging reports and follow up with customers on overdue payments. Responsible for cash reconciliation Responsible for all company inventory reconciliations Capitalization and depreciation of fixed assets Collects appropriate data to prepare sales tax returns, 1099s and other informational and/or compliance reporting Be able to work independently Support financial operations by performing complex accounting services related to preparing, analyzing, maintaining and reviewing various financial statements, records and reports Audit payroll reports against the General Ledger to ensure labor costs are allocated correctly Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred 2+ years of accounting experience Proficiency using QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills required. Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail Ability to multitask, problem solve and handle high pressure situations while maintaining a high level of quality, and flexibility. Strong organizational ability and time management skills The ability to plan, initiate and complete work assignments with minimal supervision A team mindset and the ability to work well independently Impeccable integrity Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOX controls Experience working in events or events management a plus
