Job Description

Remote until Q2 2027!We are looking for a Senior Accountant to strengthen the accounting function and provide dependable support across financial close, reporting, and compliance activities for our multi-location restaurant client. This role will work closely with cross-functional partners in FP&A, Operations, and Supply Chain to turn financial data into clear business insight while enhancing accuracy and efficiency. Currently remote but will be based in Long Beach, this position is well suited for an experienced accounting specialist who brings strong technical knowledge, sound decision-making, and the ability to guide entry-level team members.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct month-end and quarter-end close activities for designated accounts and business areas, ensuring deadlines are met and financial records remain accurate.
  • Prepare and evaluate complex journal entries related to key accounting topics such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and equity-related transactions where applicable.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations completed by less experienced team members and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
  • Manage accounting for store-level activity, including deferred revenue elements such as gift cards and loyalty-related liabilities, while supporting consolidation across multiple locations.
  • Produce monthly financial reporting packages, including core statements and concise explanations of material variances for leadership review.
  • Support internal control activities by maintaining documentation, assisting with testing, and helping address gaps identified through audit or review procedures.
  • Analyze new business arrangements and operational initiatives to determine appropriate accounting treatment and document conclusions clearly.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems that increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and support a scalable close process.
  • Coach and support Staff and entry-level Accountants by reviewing work, sharing technical guidance, and contributing to team development.
