Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support a non-profit organization in Los Angeles, California through a Long-term Contract assignment. This fully onsite role will provide essential accounting coverage during an employee leave while helping maintain consistency in daily financial operations. The position is expected to last at least three months, with the possibility of extension based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries to keep financial transactions accurate and up to date.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to support reliable financial reporting.
• Assist with corporate tax activities, including gathering documentation and supporting tax return preparation.
• Manage sales tax tracking, reporting, and related filings in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Support month-end and periodic close activities by reviewing account activity and ensuring proper documentation.
• Maintain organized accounting records and collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote continuity during the leave coverage period. Requirements
• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and journal entry preparation.
• Hands-on experience with corporate tax and corporate tax return support.
• Familiarity with sales tax reporting and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles, California for the duration of the assignment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
