Accountant - Entry Level

Description Robert Half is seeking an Entry-Level Accountant for a long-term contract opportunity with an organization in Modesto, California. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys detail-oriented work, and is eager to build experience across core accounting functions. The Entry-Level Accountant will support daily financial operations, assist with general ledger activities, and help maintain accurate financial records and reporting. What You'll Do + Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and period-end close processes + Review account balances and analyze financial activity for accuracy + Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies + Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation + Compile financial reports for internal review and program oversight + Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing + Monitor general ledger transactions and support account analysis + Respond to internal requests for financial information in a timely manner + Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed What We're Looking For + Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred + Strong attention to detail and accuracy + Basic understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations + Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems preferred + Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines + Strong communication and organizational skills + Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment For immediate consideration contact Robert Half at 209-232-1991 Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting or a related field with at least 2 years of accounting or finance experience
• Experience supporting general ledger activity, journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
