Job Description
Project Accountant Sanders & Wohrman The Project Accountant is responsible for supporting the administrative and accounting aspects of projects from initiation through close out. This role is part of the Accounting Department and works closely with Project Managers and the accounting team to ensure accurate project tracking, timely processing of transactions, and complete project documentation. In addition to project responsibilities, this position contributes to the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. Key Responsibilities Project Support Coordinate project setup, documentation, and close out Maintain project records, budgets, and job cost tracking Support Project Managers with project updates, scheduling, and issue resolution Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant Accounting Process billing, accounts receivable, and collections Process accounts payable with proper documentation and approvals Track and record project-related accounting transactions Assist with project cost reporting and analysis Company-Wide Accounting Support Assist with accounts payable, receivable, billing, and collections Support inventory tracking and reconciliations Assist with audits and maintain organized accounting records Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Accounting or related field preferred Experience in project accounting, construction, or project coordination preferred Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and job costing Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage/Timberline) is a plus Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Spanish speaking preferred Reporting Reports to Accounting Supervisor Indirect reporting to CFO What We're Looking For Detail-oriented and highly organized Strong communicator and team player Reliable, accountable, and proactive Able to work independently and support cross-functional teams
