Accountant | Temp | San Rafael - Onsite| $54.04/hour We have an immediate need for an experienced Accountant to support a public education organization here in Marin County. Your commitment to ensuring fiscal solvency, accuracy, coupled with your advanced technical skills will be key in ensuring smooth operations across a wide range of fiscal and administrative functions This is an exciting opportunity to lend your accounting skills to a mission driven organization assisting students throughout Marin.

Schedule :
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with some flexibility
Background :
Criminal background check performed prior to starting Accountant Responsibilities Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and other fiscal records Review and process budget transfers and budget revisions Monitor expenditures against approved budgets to ensure fiscal integrity and compliance Audit financial documents and transactions for accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements Compile and analyze financial and statistical reports, including budget and expenditure summaries Support district-level audits and fiscal reviews as needed Utilize Excel extensively for financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliations Collaborate closely with other accountants and business staff, who will be available to help onboard and provide ongoing support Accountant Qualifications Progressive professional experience in accounting, auditing, or fiscal management Strong working knowledge of: General ledger accounting Budget preparation, transfers, and monitoring Advanced Excel skills (analysis, reconciliations, reporting) Experience reviewing financial data for accuracy, compliance, and fiscal solvency Strong communication skills and comfort operating in a management-level capacity Experience in a school district, county office of education, or other public-sector environment highly preferre Prior experience supporting audits or fiscal oversight
