We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Accounting/Finance professional who is eager to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact within our organization. Position Summary The Operations Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. Reporting to company leadership, this individual will assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, month-end close, invoicing, cash management, and financial reporting activities. This position requires a self-starter who is comfortable learning new systems, documenting and improving processes, and helping establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) as the accounting function evolves. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting, excellent communication skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Why This Role Matters We are at a critical growth point. The right candidate will have a clear path to take on more responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable
  • Generate and distribute customer invoices
  • Monitor customer aging reports and assist with collections
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate customer records Accounts Payable
  • Ensure accurate and timely vendor payments to support uninterrupted production and supplier relationships
  • Verify coding and approvals
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Assist with managing payment schedules and cash flow priorities Payroll Support
  • Assist with payroll processing and timecard review
  • Support payroll reconciliations and reporting
  • Maintain employee payroll records and documentation Month-End Close
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Assist with monthly financial statement preparation
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities Financial Operations
  • Assist with cash management and cash flow tracking
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts
  • Prepare sales tax filings and supporting schedules
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
  • Support audit requests and external reporting requirements Process Improvement
  • Develop, document, and improve accounting procedures and SOPs
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting and ERP systems
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles
  • Advanced attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Preferred
  • Strong preference for candidates with manufacturing, job costing, or inventory accounting experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Fulcrum experience a plus)
  • Cost accounting or job costing experience
  • Experience with sales tax filings
  • Experience supporting payroll administration What Success Looks Like In the first 90 days, you will:
  • Learn RPI's accounting processes and systems
  • Take ownership of daily AR and AP activities
  • Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Help build scalable processes that will support the next phase of company growth
  • Work closely with operations to understand production flow, job costing, and inventory
  • Gain hands on exposure to manufacturing financial drivers
  • Build strong relationships with leadership, operations, customers, and vendors Within your first year, you will:

  • Expand your responsibilities into financial analysis, job costing, forecasting, and other areas of accounting operations
