Our practice emphasizes treating clients and stakeholders with dignity, respect, and professionalism while adhering to the highest standards of conduct in debt collection law. Position Summary Staff Accountant responsibilities include keeping court cost-based financial records updated, running accounting software programs to process business transactions, performing reconciliations for ledger accounts, and miscellaneous tasks as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Processing all vendor-based court cost posting for all states
  • Reconciliation of e-filing transactions to firm credit cards
  • Maintenance of vendor aging schedules to ensure the firm remains current in its payables
  • Maintaining positive pay procedures with the firm's banking relationships
  • Assistance with daily remittance procedures for clients
  • Assistance with payment processing procedures as needed
  • Monthly reconciliation reporting as required by clients
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assistance with accounting tasks such as accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and the law Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk Competency in MS Excel and Word and accounting software experience (QuickBooks preferred) Experience with spreadsheets and preparing and reconciling entry-level financial reports Proficiency in data entry and word processing Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Minimum of Associates degree required.
Bachelors degree or higher is preferred.
