The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks experience, understand accounting from beginning to end, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing bookkeeping, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, payroll support, financial reporting, and working directly with management and our CPA. This is not an entry-level data-entry position. We are looking for someone who understands accounting and can identify and resolve discrepancies. Key Responsibilities General Accounting Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Record and review daily financial transactions Properly classify income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and other transactions Review accounts for accuracy and identify discrepancies Maintain organized accounting documentation Accounts Payable Enter and process vendor bills Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding Prepare and process vendor payments Monitor outstanding payables Accounts Receivable Prepare and send customer invoices Record customer payments Monitor outstanding receivables Follow up on past-due accounts as needed Reconcile customer accounts Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation Perform monthly bank reconciliations Reconcile company credit cards Research and correct discrepancies Ensure all transactions are properly recorded Payroll Assist with or process payroll Review payroll-related accounting entries Reconcile payroll and payroll tax accounts Maintain accurate employee payroll records Coordinate with payroll providers and/or CPA as needed Financial Reporting Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports Prepare A/R and A/P aging reports Assist with cash-flow reporting Assist with month-end and year-end closing Provide financial information and reports to management Tax & CPA Support Work directly with the company's CPA Provide supporting documents for tax preparation Assist with 1099 preparation Assist with sales tax and other required filings Respond to accounting questions and requests from the CPA Preferred Qualifications QuickBooks Online experience Experience with small or mid-sized businesses Experience working directly with a business owner or management team Experience working with an outside CPA Experience with month-end closing Experience preparing 1099s Experience with payroll and payroll tax reconciliations Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Required Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience Strong QuickBooks experience required Ability to independently navigate and manage QuickBooks Strong understanding of debits, credits, general ledger, and basic accounting principles Experience with A/P and A/R Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements Experience with payroll accounting Strong Excel skills Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to identify problems and determine appropriate solutions Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information To Apply Please submit your resume and include a brief description of your QuickBooks and accounting experience.
