Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a team in Santa Clara, California for a Contract assignment supporting fiscal year-end activities. This contract opportunity is focused on strengthening close processes, resolving reconciliation backlogs, and maintaining accuracy across core accounting tasks. The ideal candidate can step into established workflows quickly, work independently with complex financial data, and help keep critical deadlines on track.
Responsibilities:
  • Complete account reconciliations related to fiscal year-end close and ensure supporting records are accurate and current.
  • Review established Excel-based schedules, update them for the current period, and preserve consistency with prior reporting methods.
  • Examine transaction activity to identify mismatches, unusual variances, and areas that require follow-up or correction.
  • Assist with clearing outstanding accounting items and reducing backlog tied to year-end priorities.
  • Work through large and detailed spreadsheets independently to confirm data reliability and support financial reporting needs.
  • Coordinate with internal business partners to gather information, resolve issues, and keep reconciliation deliverables moving on schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain clear documentation for accounting work performed, ensuring completeness and audit readiness.
  • Support core accounting operations such as general ledger activity, journal entries, and bank reconciliation tasks as needed.
