Staff Accountant

We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant for one of our clients in Santa Maria, CA. This is a full-time position that may be either temp-to-hire, or direct hire for the right fit. Hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday with a pay rate or $32 an hour (DOE). Duties & Responsibilities:

Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable. Analyze financial information and summarize financial status Review inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary Spot errors and suggest ways to improve accuracy, efficiency and costs Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures Assist with internal and external audits or reviews to ensure compliance Provide support for month-end and year-end close processes Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Ensure compliance with GAAP Liaise with management to improve financial procedures and reporting Special projects and other duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Proven experience as an A/P, A/R or Staff accountant Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Familiarity with financial accounting statements Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process QuickBooks experience Famous experience a plus but not requirement.
