Job Description

Staff Accountant / Sr. Bookkeeper Mission Springs Camps & Conference Center Mission Springs is seeking a highly capable and mission-aligned Staff Accountant/Sr. Bookkeeper to join our team. This role reports to the Director of Business & Finance and is responsible for overseeing daily and monthly financial operations while ensuring strong financial integrity and stewardship across the organization. This role is both operational and developmental, with the opportunity to grow into expanded financial leadership responsibilities over time. This position plays a critical role in supporting the mission and strategic priorities of Mission Springs through accurate reporting, proactive financial management, and collaborative leadership. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Controls Ensure financial controls and procedures are consistently followed in alignment with Mission Springs policies Perform accounts payable, deposits, and some cash management functions Insure accurate transaction details and financial records Payroll & Benefits Administration Manage payroll preparation and processing for all personnel Administer employer contributions to the 403(b) plan, ensuring timely and accurate funding Leaseholder & Property Financial Management Manage leaseholder assessment billing, including semi-annual invoicing and payment tracking Provide account statements and respond to inquiries as needed Oversee property tax payments and ensure compliance with required deadlines Complete annual welfare exemption filings Compliance & Reporting • Prepare and file Sales and Use tax returns Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations Operational Support Manage fleet-related administrative needs (DMV, insurance, maintenance documentation) Support strategic initiatives and organizational planning through financial insight and reporting Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent experience) Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred) Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel Experience with payroll systems such as Paylocity (or similar platforms) preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Position Details Full-Time, Exempt Compensation:
Salary range: $65,000-$90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
