Contract Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant Consultant who can quickly integrate into the accounting team and provide immediate support with minimal training. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, has advanced Excel skills, and is comfortable taking ownership of month-end responsibilities and complex accounting tasks. Responsibilities Support the month-end and year-end close process, including preparing and posting journal entries. Perform account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations while researching and resolving discrepancies. Analyze financial data and prepare schedules, reports, and supporting documentation. Assist with general ledger maintenance and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Support accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other month-end accounting activities. Utilize advanced Excel to analyze large datasets, create Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP functions, and streamline reporting. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes. Assist with audit requests and prepare documentation for internal and external auditors. Identify opportunities for process improvements and help maintain strong internal controls. Jump in wherever needed to support the accounting team and meet critical deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior-level accounting responsibilities. Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close procedures. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis). Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Available to start immediately is highly preferred.
