Role Description The Staff Accountant is a full-time, on-site position based in Monterey Park, CA. The role supports the company's day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, payment processing, and month-end close. Responsibilities Record accounting transactions and prepare journal entries Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Perform bank, credit card, AP, AR, and other account reconciliations Review invoices, receipts, payment requests, and supporting documentation Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Prepare and cut checks and maintain related payment records Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Support inventory and cost tracking related to grocery operations Prepare standard financial reports and Excel schedules Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation Support audit requests, internal controls, and compliance documentation Coordinate with store and corporate teams to ensure financial information is accurate and complete Perform other accounting-related duties as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 0-2 years of accounting experience; recent graduates are welcome to apply Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and
U.S. GAAP
Familiarity with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately handle a high volume of transactions Strong organizational and time-management skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work full-time on-site in Monterey Park, CA Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese required Retail, grocery, bookkeeping, or audit support experience is a plus Visa sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates
