Qualified Technologies (QTC) is an FAA approved component repair station specializing in airborne Environmental Systems and some related components, such as Turbines, Valves, and Hydraulic Power Packs. As an Engineered Solutions provider with a Firm Fixed Pricing, and short Turnaround Times (TAT), QTC supports a Lower Life Cycle Cost approach for its customers, helping fuel our growth. Role This is a full-time on-site position for a Controller / Controller potential located in Upland, CA. This will be a hands-on opportunity to learn all facets of the Company's financial activities. The individual will work under the guidance of and through coordination with the current CFO, working on all aspects of the financial accounting process: A/P, JE preparation, account analysis, reconciliations, data analysis, and report generation, with the eventual goal of transitioning to full responsibility for the Company's financial and accounting activities. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller / Accountant to serve as a key financial leader within our organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee comprehensive accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and drive financial integrity across all operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to financial management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desirable. 3-5 years professional experience in the accounting field for a small company. Proficient in all financial /accounting tasks, from transaction level through financial statement finalization. Some inventory attention, as well as interacting with other departments, i. e. purchasing, operations and human resources. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records. Broad understanding of financial regulations and rules. Familiarity with QuickBooks/QuickBooks on-line is requested. Proficiency is a plus. Experience working within an established payroll provider environment. Experience with Rippling Payroll System is a plus. Advanced Excel tasks/skills experience is a plus. Progress towards a CPA certification or completion is a plus but not necessary. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively. Former military service considered valuable. Responsibilities Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within QuickBooks. Assist with accounts payable and possibly accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Prepare journal entries, manage double entry bookkeeping, and support month-end closing activities including information/metrics reporting. Maintain fixed asset and depreciation reporting schedules. Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis perform general ledger accounting to ensure accurate and completeness in reporting. Support payroll processing tasks through JE preparation. Support workers comp reporting and annual premium audit activities. Assist with various tax preparation and reporting activities including Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax, etc. Assist in preparation of monthly management reports/financial presentations. Prepare required schedule and support for preparation of the Company's tax return by the outside tax accountant
