Job Description

Senior Cost Accountant Whittier , CA Direct Hire Accounting $120K to $130K 09/30/2026 Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $120,000 to $130,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead product costing activities by analyzing manufacturing expenses and maintaining accurate cost records. Evaluate production performance, material usage, labor efficiency, and operational expenses to support profitability analysis. Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and financial insights that support business decision making. Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to identify cost savings opportunities and improve financial performance. Support budgeting, forecasting, inventory reviews, and special projects while ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Requirements:

A Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrate strong knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing methods, variance analysis, and financial reporting practices. Possess experience working with enterprise resource planning systems and advanced Excel functionality. Maintain the ability to analyze production costs, operational data, and financial results to support business objectives.

Qualifications:

Apply strong analytical and problem solving skills to identify cost drivers and recommend process improvements. Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail when reviewing inventory balances, cost records, and financial data. Communicate effectively with finance, operations, engineering, and leadership teams. Maintain strong organizational skills while managing multiple priorities, reporting deadlines, and special projects. Bring experience with industrial manufacturing, regulated environments, accounting certifications, or enterprise system optimization initiatives considered beneficial. REF#52969
