In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing construction project costs, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting cost management initiatives across multiple projects. Your expertise will help drive financial efficiency, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects. Duties Prepare and analyze detailed cost reports for construction projects, ensuring alignment with budgets and forecasts Conduct cost analysis and variance investigations to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions Manage project budgets by monitoring expenses, controlling costs, and updating forecasts regularly Reconcile project-related accounts including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and balance sheet accounts Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, Xero, or similar financial software to record transactions accurately and generate reports Perform cash flow analysis to optimize project funding and resource allocation Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements in all financial processes Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and external auditors to support financial audits and internal controls Interpret financial reports to provide actionable insights on project performance and cost control strategies Support month-end closing activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Skills Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and cost accounting principles Proficiency in QuickBooks, and construction platform. Expertise in spreadsheet tools like Excel for data analysis, pivot tables, formulas, and financial modeling Experience with financial report writing and interpreting complex financial data for diverse audiences Familiarity with public accounting practices and internal controls related to SOX compliance Skilled in forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow analysis within the manufacturing or construction industry context Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation including general ledger reconciliation and balance sheet review Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial reports accurately and identify trends or issues Knowledge of business intelligence tools for enhanced data analysis and reporting capabilities Excellent communication skills for clear documentation of findings and collaboration across teams Join us as a Construction Cost Accountant to leverage your accounting expertise in a vibrant environment where your contributions directly impact project success.
