Job Description

Description We are looking for an accomplished Sr. Accountant to join a Contract engagement in Broomfield, Colorado. In this role, you will help keep financial reporting accurate and timely by overseeing key accounting activities, supporting the close cycle, and maintaining strong balance sheet integrity. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is detail oriented, with deep general ledger experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive month-end close tasks by preparing supporting schedules, reviewing account activity, and helping deliver complete and accurate reporting on schedule.
  • Record journal entries with clear backup documentation and monitor postings to preserve the accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and follow through on open items until issues are fully resolved.
  • Complete bank account reconciliations by matching transactions, identifying exceptions, and coordinating needed corrections.
  • Assist with accounts receivable activities by reviewing entries and helping ensure customer account records remain current and accurate.
  • Examine financial information for unusual fluctuations, inconsistencies, or adjustments that should be addressed before reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain well-organized accounting support files and provide documentation that is ready for audit and internal review needs.
  • Use NetSuite to process accounting activity, review account details, and support recurring financial reporting requirements. Requirements
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including substantial responsibility for month-end close activities.
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and preparation of journal entries.
  • Proven experience performing account reconciliations, including detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with accounts receivable processes and transaction review.
  • Hands-on experience using NetSuite in a detail-focused accounting environment.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify variances, and resolve issues with sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
